Hi! This is chapter one of my Disney Name Game Challenge! I was inspired to do this challenge by MeadowThayer's challenge of the same name. I linked her site on my about me page. The Name Game Challenge is when every child must correspond to a letter in their parent's name. For example, if the founder is named Nora, her children would be: Nile, Opal, Rose, and Ella. Then, if Opal were picked as the next heir, her children would be: Orion, Peony, Alice, and Luke. I'm going to be playing with a Disney theme, inspired by MeadowThayer's challenge. It looked really fun and so I decided to give it a go. Here is how I'm going to be playing this challenge: Gender Law: Equal. This means that the heir could be male or female. Matriarchy gives me extra points, but I always play with Matriarchy rule (all heirs need to be female) and wanted to switch things up a bit. Bloodline Law: Strict Traditional. This means that the heir must be the biological child of the former heir. (Cannot be adopted) Heir Law: Random with my votes. Since not enough people read my stories for an heir poll, I will randomize the next heir, but with a twist. I will give myself a certain amount of votes per generation based off how many children there are, like this: 2 children = no votes, 3 children = 1 vote, 4 children = 1 vote, 5 = 2, 6 = 2, 7 = 3, 8 = 2, 9 = 3. (Please don't make me have 9 kids!!). I'm basically just dividing by 3 and rounding down. My votes will add the person's name into the randomizer another time. I hope this isn't confusing; when we get to picking another heir, it'll hopefully clear up. (I'm also going to be giving myself the points for if it were an heir poll) Anyways. Here is our founder, Xerxes Disney: It took me a lot of research to find a name that started with X (which I picked for our founder because I wanted to get the letter X out of the way), and I found Xerxes to be my favorite name, even though I now have to find two X names. However, based off the rules I'm using, this will give me 8 points each! But anyways. Xerxes is a geek, loves the outdoors, and is self assured. Her aspiration is Successful Lineage, which gives her the extra trait of Domestic. I really like how she turned out. It was difficult for me to create a sim version of Xerxes from Aladdin, seeing as I didn't know the personality of the eel, but I think it worked out. * Inspiration for the layout of these character infos come from MeadowThayer's stories. I posted a link to her page in my About Me page :)* Once I purchased a lot, I set my money down to 8,000 like with a legacy challenge. Now that I think about it, because the lot came with some trees, I should have gotten rid of the trees first, as selling them gave me some extra simoleons, but since there aren't any rules as to how many simoleons you should start with, I don't feel guilty. I then built this house I think it's really cute, if bare.I have plans for adding rooms and a second level when we expand our family (and we have to have six pregnancies, because Xerxes' name is so long!) I currently have Xerxes living in Brindleton Bay, which turned out to be a horrible idea. I played a bit with Xerxes before putting her story on the site, and since there were so many stray cats and dogs around, I had to adopt one. I thought her name was super cute - Mochi - and so I didn't want to change it, even though I didn't think it was a Disney character. However, after some research, (ie searching up "Mochi Disney" just in case), I realized that Mochi is the name of the cat from Big Hero 6. He is Hiro, Tadashi, and Aunt Cass's pet. Hey! Look at me go! :) But yeah, adopting Mochi was maybe not the smartest idea, but she is so cute! I couldn't help it! Brindleton Bay is dangerous! After making some garden salad, Xerxes decides to eat it standing up. I spent a good 300 simoleons on those chairs! *sigh* Xerxes and Mochi are so cute! Mochi looks kind of scared in this picture, and Xerxes angry, but I still really love this picture. <3 AWWW. (Sorry I had to leave the "paused" text uncropped, or Mochi's lil bubness would be cropped out) Once Xerxes woke up and sorted out her needs, she joined the conservationist career. I thought this fit with her traits well: she's a geek, and the conservationist career is kinda science-y based, and she loves the outdoors. Since I haven't played with the conservationist career before, I'm not sure how it'll go, but I'm excited to try it out. Since the first task was to spread conservation awareness, I sent her out to do both that and go spouse-hunting. Since I only recently got Get Together, I sent her to Windenburg's cafe, so I could also get to know the neighborhood better. When she arrived at the cafe, her first thought was to go to this guy, Demetrius Blalock. I took that, coupled with the fact that he wasn't married, to be a sign selecting him as our spouse. (Granted, he was the waiter/bartender/etc. and she wanted to order food, but...) (This turned out to be a very bad decision.) Demetrius: I'm TRYING to work! Look at all these people trying to order food! Xerxes: Sorry, but I need to have six pregnancies ASAP, and I'm not getting any younger! Because the mood of the conversation was flirty, I decided to try a little flirt. It actually worked, surprising me. I really expected an awkward moodlet, but Xerxes was about ready to head home anyways and so I just went ahead and tried it. This knowledge is going to be really useful! Xerxes went home and got her needs in order, then called Demetrius over. They shared their first kiss on the front "porch" (because I moved Xerxes into a tiny home, I didn't waste tiles on the porch. I also didn't have enough simoleons.) (Also sorry about Demetrius' name/info bar; I'm still getting the hang of this thing, but now you can see their friendship/romance bar so I guess that worked out.) Following this, Xerxes asked Demetrius to be her boyfriend and he accepted. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a picture of that. We then asked Demetrius to move in, and he said yes! The rules didn't say anything about taking your spouse's money, so after the game forced me to take all 20,000 simoleons of Demetrius' money, I took away 10,000, which left us with 10,100 simoleons. (I don't want the challenge to get too easy) Following this newfound small fortune, Xerxes and Demetrius shared their first woohoo. Also, this random kid showed up at my door as Xerxes and Demetrius woohoo'd, looking for Mochi. I was really hoping he wouldn't just come in like I've seen other sims do, and he didn't, luckily. (Imagine accidentally scarring that poor kid!) I also added this laptop and a sofa to the house, because Demetrius was following the tech guru career, and the living space was looking a bit bare and sad. Xerxes took a shower and then a pregnancy test, and baby X is on its way! I wasn't able to get a picture of either Xerxes taking the test or telling Demetrius because I was so focused on getting Demetrius on the laptop (it wasn't working because I originally put it on the farthest counter, where it was blocked by the bookcase). But Demetrius wasn't too happy about baby X because, as we learned, he hates children. Remember what I said about following that "sign"? This is where it came back to bite me. Demetrius' other traits are Lazy and Genius. (Yes, I did check his traits once I moved him in, but wanted to wait for this dramatic reveal) I also totally forgot to give Demetrius a makeover, and so when I went back in to play, that was the first thing I did. Here he is: I gave him a haircut and got rid of that goatee. It just wasn't working for me. I also changed his clothes, though I have no idea what his style is. I'm not very good at CAS. :) He looks totally different now, but I think he's handsome and will probably produce some good looking sims. Because Xerxes is now pregnant and we received 10,000 simoleons from Demetrius moving in, I added a nursery on the right side of the house. I also gave the master bedroom a little closet and added a cute shower/tub combo to the bathroom, as the baby will soon become a toddler, and will have to be bathed. After waking up, Xerxes ate some garden salad in the family's favorite eating place (THERE ARE BARSTOOLS THERE YOU KNOW!!) while Mochi took a lil bath as she watched the world through the window. Aww. Mochi had been displaying these heart thingies and the mating thought, which reminded me that I hadn't spayed her yet, so I went and did that at the vet (which was right next door). Because Xerxes has a pretty high painting skill (thanks, tiny house), I made her go and paint after she got back from the vet because we needed the money. Mochi just went straight into the house. Mochi: Why do I have to have this cone on my head!? Xerxes: It's so you don't have to have any babies. Then I'd have to give them up for adoption, and I'd get a sad moodlet. The controller won't like that! That's right. I won't. Mochi keeps jumping onto the counters and I know it's something you're supposed to reprimand your pets for doing, but I find it so cute! Mochi also loves this spot on the refrigerator (which I did upgrade with our new money, as well as the stove, because I hate cheap kitchen appliances.) I think it's just so adorable! Once Demetrius arrive back home from work, Xerxes proposed in front of this arch that I placed down in their backyard. Unfortunately, I lost the picture of Xerxes proposing, but they immediately got married and so here are the pictures: They're so cute! The lighting isn't great (sorry), but I still really love this! Edit 5/27: I was writing Chapter 2 when I found the proposal picture, so here it is: Then the newlyweds went inside and to sleep, and when they woke up, Xerxes painted this, which somehow sold for 262 simoleons? I don't know who would pay that much for this. Another thing Mochi really enjoys is scratching furniture. I didn't take the effort to reprimand her, but then I had to pay 200 simoleons to repair the bed, which Mochi had torn to shreds, so I had Demetrius scold and beg her, and she finally learned not to scratch at furniture. Demetrius: Hey little bean! Mochi: What about me? You'll still love me, right!? Xerxes: Of course, but our child might draw our attention from you a bit. Sorry! Demetrius: Don't worry, Mochi. I hate children. I don't often play with aspirations, but I've decided to try and complete the aspirations of my sims now. Demetrius is getting to work on his, which is Nerd Brain. Look at that baby bump! She's so pregnant! I'm so excited for this baby! This pregnancy has also been very smooth and calm, with basically no morning sickness at all. While eating some garden salad, Xerxes goes into labor! I'm totally unprepared and forget to check the gender/number of the baby/babies.* *I use MCCC to do this; I just like coordinating names and stuff. And it's a boy! Say hi to Xion Disney! From Disney Wiki: Xion is a character originating from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and serves as the tritagonist of the game. I originally didn't want to use either Disney series or games, but I genuinely couldn't find any X names from movies. Wait- what? That's right! It's twins! Say hello to baby boy Xantos Disney. From Disney Wiki: um. So I messed up. I thought Xantos was a character in Disney, but apparently not. Xanatos is the surname of some character from a series called Gargoyles. I'm not going to change Xantos' name, but that was the inspiration for his name (I guess). Demetrius' reaction to the birth of his sons was to eat a grilled cheese in the family's favorite spot. Wow. I'm going to finish the chapter here, with this picture of the crying twins. I'm going to have my hands full with these two. Total Points: |
